We recommend that you come into this course with some ECG knowledge, namely an ability to interpret the most urgent, basic rhythms. If you have NO ECG knowledge, we suggest taking one of our Six Second ECG Intensives (1-Day) to get you going. Also, we recommend that you review the ACLS Provider Manual, as well as the pre-course package that we will send you with your confirmation email.
Are there prerequisites for taking ACLS?
You must complete a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course prior to completing your ACLS Provider course. SkillSTAT offers the option to complete your BLS training concurrent with every ACLS course. Ask us about this option!
You are also required to be able to interpret ECG rhythms. Check out our Six Second ECG® Intensive course if you need to build this skill. If would like to take a combination ECG/ACLS course with five or more friends, check out SkillSTAT 2U and contact us for more information.
What is ACLS (Provider and Renewal)?
Delivered in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, ACLS was created to help healthcare providers quickly recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies.
The ACLS Provider Course (2 days) provides a foundation for anyone who has not taken the course before, or who has not taken the course within 2 years. The ACLS Renewal Course (1 day) is designed for Healthcare Providers who have already taken ACLS Provider within the last 2 years. If you expect to lead or assist with resuscitation, take ACLS with us! You’ll be glad you did.
