Why Take PALS With SkillStat?

In addition to the standard PALS curriculum indicated by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, you get:

  • Scenarios and examples that fit you and your role.
  • Explanations of the rationales and research behind the skills you are learning.
  • Learning strategies to support rapid recognition of and effective response to cardiovascular emergencies.
  • We rarely end a course early! And that means you get all the time you need to build skills you can feel confident about.
  • The SkillStat Guarantee: If you leave any of our courses feeling like you want to reinforce your knowledge further, for any reason, we welcome to you repeat the same course for free within 2 months of your original course completion date!

What is PALS?

Delivered in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, PALS was created to help healthcare providers quickly recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies.

The PALS Provider Course (2 days) provides a foundation for anyone who has not taken the course before, or who has not taken the course within 2 years. The PALS Renewal Course (1 day) is designed for Healthcare Providers who have already taken PALS course within the last 2 years. If you expect to lead or assist with resuscitation, take PALS with us! You’ll be glad you did.

Is Preparation Required?

If you plan to take an PALS course, we recommend reviewing the course materials in advance. Most of the course is engaged in hands-on experiential learning and we want to be able to make the most of your valuable time.

Are there prerequisites for taking PALS?

You must complete a Basic Life Support course (previously titled BLS-HCP) prior to completing your PALS Provider course. SkillStat offers the option to complete your BLS training concurrent with every PALS course. Ask us about this option!

You are also required to be able to interpret ECG rhythms. Check out our Six Second ECG® Essentials course if you need to build this skill. If would like to take a combination ECG/ACLS course with five or more friends, check out SkillStat 2U and contact us for more information.
